Do your job and leave the rest to fate~What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us. -- Ralph.Waldo.Emerson |

April 15 haven't said anything, but here it is~~first, this gentleman sums up what my main point is quite nicely
second, i know this isn't going to happen, our government being kinda stiff and all, but just think: what if we cancel all the extra security measures around the torch relay, and just let it go~~? well, we being a country where the celebrated Taichi originates, i just can't help but see the correlation between the two - let the most powerful fist have no place to land. surely, if we cancel the security measures, any attempt made on the torch will only buy us more allies. if there is one thing we should learn in the turmoil of today's international politics and media, it is that everyone sympathize with the underdog. but i know this will never happen~~ we simply lack the imagination~~
so prayers be with China this summer~~! get over this, and tomorrow will always be a better day~~ February 25 After sexSexuality, it is ironic that while we are busy running around branding ourselves with words such as “civilized”, “evolved”, this most primal, even animalistic part of our being would become the center of virtually every person’s life. From the self-entitled moral high horses of politics to the seedy underbelly of very metropolis, it would be hard pressed for a latest version of the homo-sapiens to look up and being reminded(explicitly or implicitly) of the most innate part of his/her genetics, the part that are unchanged through fifty thousand years of evolution. If only sex could be another subject, then it would be praised and esteemed as the height of our physical or intellectual achievement. But sadly, it isn’t. The uninformed person I am, I couldn’t go back and ascertain the exact date when the part of our anatomy that’s solely responsible for keeping our race alive was deemed indecent and put in the Pandora’s Box for the world to fear. But we certainly are still at a time when sex is to be talked about with a cautious tongue. Much like love, sexuality would remain a staple for the motion pictures for a long time, if not eternity, to come. After depicting it often overly erotic and sometimes indecent, we can now see productions like this movie – “After sex”. Watching this movie is like watching a movie that discusses any other social phenomenon of our time. Even though the subject would be sensitive in many people’s eyes, because it was handled with great taste and, more importantly, sincerity, I imagine it would not be offensive to even the most conservative of us. Another thing that made me like this movie is that behind all the heavy dialogues and light comedic tone of this production, you can feel a positive and affirming heart, which is unlike most of the other productions that discuss social subjects. I like this one. It makes me think but doesn’t give me a heavy heart.
Quotes from "After sex"Christopher & Leslie “Love is……a guessing game. And that's the beauty of it. There's no guarantee. It’s like diving into a pool of water without knowing if it’s shallow or deep. And sure, yeah, if it’s shallow, you end up hurt and paralyzed from the neck down…… but if it’s deep……you know……it’s a leap of faith, it’s like throwing yourself out there without any guarantees, and that’s what life’s about! Ok, you know those carnival games, right? And you know how some of them are really hard to win and some of them are super easy and everyone wins. Well, it’s just, that’s the difference between love and sex. Sex’s the game where everyone wins a little prize and no one goes home a loser. And……love is the game that’s really hard to win…… but if you do and you got to take home that life size stuffed rhinoceros…… it feels whole lot better than taking home that shitty little plastic key chain.” “I love you...” “I love you too...” Freddy & Jay “I’m not arrogant enough to know who you are. You might be like me, you might be just curious. But either way, whatever you are, don’t… try and cater to other people’s ideas of who you should be. You just be you.” |
Leave your footprint in my life. I'll appreciate it.
